Objectives:

• Provide policy advice on developing Responsible Tourism in India.
• Provide Continuing Professional Development training in all aspects of Responsible Tourism
• Monitoring market trends and opportunities
• Maximising local economic benefits
• Managing socio-cultural impacts
• Minimising negative environmental impacts
• Conservation and sustainable development.
• Partnering with Indian institutions of higher education to provide a Masters in RTM
• Organise symposia and conferences on the issues confronting India in the sustainable development of tourism
• Undertake research and consultancy
• Advocate change and to encourage stakeholder – government, the private sector in India and in originating markets, conservation organisations, travellers and local communities to “take responsibility for achieving sustainable tourism, and to create better places for people to live in and for people to visit.”
